production volume increased by 30.3 percent compared to September and rose by 15.8 percent year on year to 330,164 units, according to the release from the Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry (AMIA). In the given month, the country's car and light vehicle exports increased by 7.1 percent year on year to 257,372 units.
Meanwhile, in the first 10 months of the current year,
Mexico's car and light commercial vehicle
production increased by 8.5 percent year on year to 2,726,472 units. In the given period, the country's car and light commercial vehicle exports indicated a rise of 8.5 percent year on year to 2,209,873 units.
In the January-October period this year,
Mexico's exports of cars and light commercial vehicles to Canada, Asia and the US increased by 38.7 percent, 34.6 percent and 14.8 percent respectively, year on year. Meanwhile, in the same period, year-on-year decreases were observed in exports to destinations such as Africa, Europe and Latin America, down 79.9 percent, 34.7 percent and 20.0 percent respectively.
As for domestic sales, in October this year,
Mexico's cars and light commercial vehicle sales increased by 14.3 percent year on year to 100,923 units. In the first 10 months of this year, 890,491 cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in the domestic market, up 5.6 percent year on year.
