Finland-based global engineering and technology company Metso Corporation has announced the receipt of an order for the supply of two twin-cell rotary railcar unloader systems to Pilbara Infrastructure Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Australian iron ore producer Fortescue Metals Group Ltd (FMG), for its Anderson Point site in the Western Australia-based Pilbara region.

Both deliveries are expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2009 and the value of the order is estimated at approximately €39 million.

The new unloader systems will be used at Anderson Point and will allow Pilbara Infrastructure Pty to unload iron ore from trains coming from both FMG's Cloudbreak and Christmas Creek mines at a rate of 80 wagons per hour each, approximately 10,800 mt/hour per system.

Metso will be also responsible for the engineering, design and start-up assistance for the unloader systems.
