Metinvest-SMC, a retail sales-focused subsidiary of the Ukrainian mining and metal business group Metinvest, intends to build a steel processing plant in the country's capital city Kiev, at a cost of $2 million in investment.

The new plant will be involved in processing sections (cut in ordered sizes) and rebars (production of reinforcing grids and frames).

It is expected that the possibility of processing plates at the new plant will also be considered.
