The Ukrainian mining and steel producing company Metinvest Group has announced in its annual report that in 2011 it plans to complete the construction of a general purpose terminal to be operated by Danube Shipping at the port of Mykolaiv, Ukraine.
With an annual capacity of approximately 3.4 million mt, the new terminal will handle iron ore concentrate and pellets and is expected to decrease the company's costs through a reduction in port handling fees and the removal of existing logistical constraints due to the proximity of the port of Mykolaiv to Metinvest's iron ore deposits.
