Ukraine's largest vertically-integrated steelmaking company Metinvest has announced that its subsidiary Ilyich Iron & Steel Works of Mariupol's hot dip galvanized production, which had been idled since January, will resume on March 5.
The plant's hot dip galvanized production line No. 2 in its cold rolled shop will work at full capacity. 16,000 mt of galvanized coils are planned to be produced in March. Over 40 percent of these products will be shipped to the local market directly to buyers in accordance with contracts and to the warehouses of Metinvest-SMC for wholesale and retail customers in all regions of Ukraine. The remainder will be sold in the CIS and overseas.
Production of cold rolled coils in the same shop will also resume in March. They will be supplied both to the local market and abroad, mainly to the CIS and the Middle East.
