Metalloinvest’s iron ore output up 1.8 percent in Q2 from Q1 level

Metalloinvest, a leading global iron ore and hot briquetted iron (HBI) producer based in Russia, has announced its operational results for the second quarter of the current year.

Accordingly, in the given quarter Metalloinvest's iron ore production increased by 1.8 percent quarter on quarter to 9.8 million mt. Its iron ore shipments to the domestic market increased by 16.3 percent quarter on quarter in the same period to 4.5 million mt.

Metalloinvest's pellet production and shipment volumes in the second quarter amounted to 5.9 million mt and 3.46 million mt, up 1.6 percent and 1.7 percent respectively, both quarter on quarter.

In the second quarter, Metalloinvest's crude steel production was down 3.3 percent to 1.1 million mt, while its pig iron output decreased by 5.1 percent to 590,000 mt, both quarter on quarter.
