Russia-based leading global iron ore and hot briquetted iron (HBI) producer Metalloinvest and Joint Stock Company Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant (ChelPipe), a Russian producer of welded and seamless steel tubes and pipes, have agreed to increase the delivery of flat steel products made by Metalloinvest's Ural Steel to ChelPipe, according to a statement issued by Metalloinvest.

The companies intend to broaden their cooperation over the next three years. Metalloinvest will become one of the major suppliers of rolled metal for the production of pipes that will be used for construction of a pipeline from the Purovsky gas condensate processing plant to Tobolsk-Neftekhim, being carried out by Russian petrochemical company SIBUR.

In June this year, ChelPipe signed a three-year contract with SIBUR to deliver 170,000 mt of pipe products. Pipes with an outer three-layer anti-corrosion polyethylene coating will be delivered in several phases throughout 2012-2014.
