Metal product shipments on German railways down 5.5% in Jan-Sept

As reported by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), a total of 273.1 million mt of goods were transported on German railway lines in the first three quarters of 2012, decreasing 3.5 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

In the January-September period of this year, 49.5 million mt of metal and metal products were transported on German railways, falling by 5.5 percent on year-on-year basis.
