Shares of Anglo-Dutch steelmaker Corus jumped after the speculations that the company might have hold merger talks with Russia's Evraz Group S.A. “Evraz Group S.A. is aware of certain rumors circulating in the market relating to potential transactions for its shares and does not propose to comment on this speculation or rumor” said the company in a statement via the London Stock Exchange. A Corus spokeswoman said she had no comment on the report. “All we have said is that we are in the initial stages of looking at opportunities in low-cost, high-growth countries such as Russia and Brazil” she said.
