Meishan Steel commissions reheating furnace of 1,780 mm HR line

Chinese steel giant Baosteel Group has announced that the reheating furnace No. 1 of the 1,780 mm hot rolling line of its Shanghai-based subsidiary Meishan Steel has commenced production operations, marking the completion of Meishan Steel's 1,780 mm hot rolling project.

Construction work started on the project in September 2010. Its main products are hot rolled carbon steel, low-alloy steel and high-strength steel, including sheet of reduced thickness for containers and automobiles.
