Mechel’s crude steel production down 21 percent in Q1

Mechel, one of the leading Russian mining and steel groups, has announced that its crude steel output in the first quarter of the current year decreased by 21 percent to 1.031 million mt compared to the same period last year.

In the first quarter this year, Mechel's pig iron output declined by four percent to 935,000 mt, while its coal production decreased by 13 percent to 5.56 million mt, both year on year.
