Mazda sees decline in vehicle output

Japan's fifth-largest automaker Mazda Motor Corp. disclosed that its domestic output dropped 4.7% year on year to 56'803 vehicles in May. This was the fourth decline since a fire in December severely damaged a major plant in Hiroshima. The plant in Hiroshima produces around 268'000 vehicles annually, accounting for around 30% of Mazda's domestic production capacity. In addition, Mazda's global vehicle output declined 4.2% year on year to 79'280 units last month.
