Canada-based Maxtech Ventures said it expects to expand its manganese operations in Brazil to other states, including Rondonia and Goias.

Additionally, the company has signed a letter of interest with a consultant for a site visit to an existing manganese mining operation located in the state of Goias. Maxtech said it has begun its next phase claims operation in the Juina area of Mato Grosso state.

“The company has four claims totaling nearly 4 million acres in this area. These claims contain numerous manganese occurrences found through reconnaissance prospecting to date,” the company said this week.

The company added it started a new due diligence phase on the what it called as the “possible acquisition” of additional claims with “high-grade potential” and a timeframe in which to ramp up a full mining plan in the Mato Grosso area.

“There are only a handful of junior pure-play Manganese explorers, this is an advantage Maxtech is looking to capitalize on as it expands its exploration claims in Brazil and strategic relationship with Maringá Ferro-Liga,” the company said.
