Hopedale, Massachusetts-based structural steel fabricator Building Envelope Systems announced this week that it is looking to move into an expanded facility in nearby Plainville, appearing before city officials Monday to detail their plans and request tax relief.

Representatives from the company say they have outgrown their current 8,000-square-foot facility and are interested in the 50,000-square-foot former Plainville Machine building—although only 27,000 square feet would be used, with the remainder held for future expansions or tenants.

Building Envelope Systems, which has doubled its revenue each year since opening in 2011, plans to invest $1 million in new machinery after the move.
