Japan-based Marubeni Corporation has announced that, jointly with Nippon Steel & Sumikin Engineering Co., Ltd. (NSENGI), it will revamp the blast furnace at the Dolvi plant of Indian steelmaker JSW Steel Limited (JSW).

The revamping project will enable increased production of the blast furnace by almost doubling the furnace volume, from 2,581 m3 to 4,323 m3. Marubeni stated that the revamping method will shorten the shutdown period to less than 100 days and minimize production loss.
