Market awaits CSC 4Q export price reduction

Market watchers expect that Taiwan based China Steel Corporation (CSC) will soon announce its fourth quarter (November 2005 to January 2006) export price reduction. CSC has yet to disclose the decrease range, but the local media suggest it could be $70-80/ton. However, for some cold rolled sheet/coil that cannot be produced in mainland China, and products with high added value such as galvanized sheet, the decrease range will be smaller since demand is great. CSC decreased its prices of steel material for October to December in Taiwan by NT$750-2500/ton ($23-77).
