In September this year, manganese ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland totaled 148,500 metric tons, rising by 42.2 percent compared to August this year and down 14 percent compared to the same month of 2014, according to the monthly data released by the Port Hedland Port Authority.
Meanwhile, in September this year manganese ore shipments made from Port Hedland to China amounted to 97,191 metric tons, declining by 6.9 percent compared to the previous month, while shipments to India totaled 75,500 metric tons.
Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Atlas Manganese in the manganese ore-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
