In July this year, manganese ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland totaled 149,000 metric tons, increasing by 154.7 percent compared to June this year and down 44.47 percent compared to the same month of 2014, according to the monthly data released by the Port Hedland Port Authority.
Meanwhile, in July this year China was the leading destination for manganese ore shipments from Port Hedland, receiving 100,000 metric tons. China was followed by India, which received 49,000 metric tons of manganese ore exports from Port Hedland in the given month.
Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Atlas Manganese in the manganese ore-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
