Manganese ore exports via Port Hedland up 14.85% in Feb from Jan

In February this year, manganese ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland totaled 151,600 metric tons, increasing by 14.85 percent from 132,000 metric tons in January this year and up 186 percent compared to the same month of 2014, according to the monthly data released by the Port Hedland Port Authority.

Meanwhile, in February this year China was the leading destination for manganese ore shipments from Port Hedland, receiving 102,600 metric tons, up 8.46 percent compared to the previous month. China was followed by Vietnam and South Korea, which received 27,000 metric tons and 22,000 metric tons of manganese ore exports from Port Hedland in the given month, respectively.
 
Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Atlas Manganese in the manganese ore-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
