Manganese ore exports via Port Hedland fall 34.3% in March from February

In March this year, manganese ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland totaled 99,600 metric tons, falling 34.3 percent compared to February this year and down 45.6 percent compared to the same month of 2014, according to the monthly data released by the Port Hedland Port Authority.

Meanwhile, in March this year China was the leading destination for manganese ore shipments from Port Hedland, receiving 72,600 metric tons, down 29.2 percent compared to the previous month. China was followed by South Korea, which received 27,000 metric tons of manganese ore exports from Port Hedland in the given month.
 
Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Atlas Manganese in the manganese ore-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
