In April this year,
manganese ore shipments from
Australia's Port Hedland totaled 84,100 metric tons, falling 15.56 percent compared to March this year and down 28.31 percent compared to the same month of 2014, according to the monthly data released by the Port Hedland Port Authority.
Meanwhile, in April this year India was the leading destination for
manganese ore shipments from Port Hedland, receiving 39,500 metric tons. India was followed by China, which received 33,600 metric tons of
manganese ore exports from Port Hedland in the given month.
Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Atlas Manganese in the
manganese ore-rich Pilbara region of Western
Australia.
