Manganese ore exports via Port Hedland decline in October

In October this year, manganese ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland totaled 141,885 metric tons, decreasing 25.7 percent compared to the previous month and down 12.3 percent compared to the same month last year, according to Port Hedland Port Authority.

According to the released information, China was the only export destination for manganese ore shipments from Port Hedland in October this year, with manganese ore shipments to China more than doubling month on month and up 34.3 percent compared to the same month of last year.

Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Atlas Manganese in the manganese ore-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
