Malaysia’s iron and steel sales value up 9.5 percent in June

Malaysian manufacturing output in June this year rose 4.8 percent compared to June 2011, following a revised year-on-year increase of 6.7 percent recorded in May, according to Malaysia's Department of Statistics.

In June, Malaysian basic metal and fabricated metal products output rose by five percent compared to the same month of the previous year. Meanwhile, in June this year, the sales value of basic iron and steel product manufacture totaled RM 2.14 billion ($684.5 million), increasing by 9.5 percent year on year.
