Malaysia's Ministry of International Trade and Industry has announced the launch of an antidumping (AD) duty investigation on cold rolled (CR) stainless flat steel product imports from China, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.

The products under investigation are cold rolled stainless steel in coils, sheets or any other form with thickness of not more than 6.5 mm and width of not more than 1,600 mm.

The investigation was initiated following a petition lodged by Malaysian producer Bahru Stainless Sdn Bhd claiming that the imports of the subject product from alleged countries have increased in terms of volume and the Malaysian industry has suffered injury through the effects of dumping, price undercutting, price depression, negative cash flow and reduction in return on investment.

The products subject to antidumping duty investigation currently fall under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7219.31.000, 7219.32.000, 7219.33.000, 7219.34.000, 7219.35.000, 7220.20.130, 7220.20.190 and 7220.20.900.
