On January 16, Anhui Province-based Chinese steelmaker Magang Group announced that its sales of steel sheets for application in the
automotive sector totaled 1.1 million mt, up 30 percent year on year. In addition, the producer's output of the products in question in 2013 also totaled 1.1 million mt. Magang stated that in 2013 it developed 18 new grades of steel sheet with good anti-corrosion properties for application in lightweight
automotive vehicles.
