Louisiana steel manufacturer announces $2.1 million expansion

Louisiana steel manufacturer Oxlean Manufacturing LLC announced plans Friday to invest $2.1 million to expand its steel fabrication site in Walker, Louisiana. The expansion will increase the facility’s production area by 75 percent, to 28,000 square feet.

The project, which is expected to be completed in Q3 2016, will include the installation of advanced robotic technology and new modernization software.

According to the Louisiana Economic Development, Oxlean’s expansion will result in 73 direct new jobs and an estimated additional 122 new indirect jobs.
