Longhi abruptly departs Gerdau Long Steel, Johannpeter takes reins

Gerdau, the largest long products producer of the Americas, announced late Wednesday that Mario Longhi, President of Gerdau Long Steel North America (formerly Gerdau Ameristeel), is leaving the company, effective Wednesday, June 22. Guilherme Gerdau Johannpeter will immediately take over as President. Johannpeter was most recently Vice President of Gerdau Special Steel North America (formerly Gerdau MacSteel).

Jack Finlayson will replace Guilherme Gerdau Johannpeter at Gerdau Special Steel North America. Finlayson joined Gerdau MacSteel in 2007 as plant manager, and most recently held the position of VP of Operations at the SBQ mill.
