Meriden, Connecticut-based Logan Steel announced this week that the company has purchased the former Atlas Container property for $1.2 million. The company plans to use the facility to consolidate its steel businesses, which are currently spread among four local sites.

The 12.4-acre property features a 160,000-square-foot building that first housed the Westvaco Corp. before being sold to Weyerhauser Company, and then Atlas Container in 2001. The building has not been used since 2009.
