International industrial and metals group Liberty House has announced that it has launched its new Specialty Steels business and appointed some of the most prominent international metals industry figures to lead the operation ahead of the completion of its agreed £100 million acquisition of Tata Steel UK Specialty Steels, a subsidiary of India-based Tata Steel Limited.

In February this year, Liberty House signed a definitive agreement with Tata Steel to acquire its high-profile Specialty Steels business in the North of England. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the near future, subject to the necessary regulatory approvals.
