Leggett & Platt acquires Shanghai manufacturing facility

Diversified manufacturer Leggett & Platt has announced its acquisition of a store fixtures manufacturing facility in Shanghai, China, Legget's hope is it will enhance the company's store fixture production by approximately $20 million. The facility, a key supplier to Leggett's US operations, produces a broad range of retail store fixtures as well as gondola shelves, and wire. It also has wood manufacturing capabilities. This acquisition will boost Leggett's operating presence in China, so the company will be able to serve both the growing Chinese domestic market as well as the US market. Facility operations include full steel fabrication resources, and both powder coating and chrome plating finish capability. The modern facility, employing 460 workers, is expandable and conveniently situated to serve customers in Asia. Leggett & Platt is a Fortune 500 company and serves as North America's leading producer of components for residential and office fixtures as well as a broad range of manufactured goods for retail stores, and automobiles.
