Largest-ever steel shipment at Port of Mobile, Alabama

The Alabama State Port Authority has announced that it has received the largest-ever steel shipment at Pinto Terminal of Port of Mobile.
 
The cargo ship called Shi Dai carrying over 94,000 mt of carbon steel slabs has arrived at Pinto Terminal from Brazil. The slab cargo was destined to the ThyssenKrupp rolling mill located in Calvert, Alabama. The offloading operations are expected to take approximately four days
 
Jimmy Lyons, director and chief executive officer for the Port Authority, said that the Pinto Terminal volumes are showing significant increases as the ThyssenKrupp rolling mill continues to ramp up production.
