Kunming Steel commissions two new converters

Two new 120 mt converters were commissioned on July 9 by Chinese steelmaker Kunming Iron and Steel at new facilities in the city of Anning in the Chinese province of Yunnan, as reported by local media sources.

The converters were built by Mechanical and Electrical Co, of state-owned China First Metallurgical Construction Group Corporation. The annual crude steel production capacity of Kunming Steel will increase to 2 million mt with the two new converters.
