Finland-based lifting services company Konecranes has announced that it expanding its Machine Tool Service (MTS) business in the UK through the acquisition of the assets of Machine Control Engineers Limited.
Machine Control Engineers Limited is based in Coatbridge, Scotland, and employs 26 persons. The annual net sales of the company in 2009 were approximately €3 million. The value of the acquisition has not been disclosed.
KRG Industries Ltd, an independent contract manufacturing company in the UK, was the previous owner of Machine Control Engineers Limited.
Machine Control Engineers Limited will be consolidated in Konecranes' financial statements as of the end of September 2010. The company will be part of the present MTS operations in the UK and will move to Konecranes' MTS premises in East Kilbride, Scotland.
