Klöckner buys US sheet metal fabrication company American Fabricators

Duisburg, Germany-based steel and metal distribution company Klöckner & Co. has announced that it has acquired the US sheet metal fabrication company American Fabricators which is based in Nashville, Tennessee.
 
American Fabricators specializes in the professional fabrication of sheets into complex parts for customers from a wide range of different industries. With around 150 employees, American Fabricators generates annual sales of around $30 million. The parties agreed not to disclose the value of the transaction. Consolidation will take place from the start of the fourth quarter of the current year.
 
Klöckner & Co. stated that, with the acquisition of American Fabricators, it is now entering the higher value-added segment of sheet metal fabrication.
