KISCO establishes forging sales headquarters

Changwon, South Korea-based KISCO Holdings, formerly Korea Iron and Steel Co., has established a new forging sales headquarters for the company in order to accelerate sales of its specialty steel, including alloy steel, tool steel and forged steel.


Executive senior director Lee Young-ki said that the company will expand its forging business range, focusing its sales promotion on the exports of the products to be used for wind power plants and shipbuilding, stressing that it is necessary to developed specialized products in order to become a global leader in the overseas market.


The forging sales headquarters of the company, which is equipped with a 70-mt electric arc furnace, vacuum casting equipment, a heating furnace and a 10,000-mt press, is aiming to attain annual sales of KRW 200 billion (185,7 million $)  in 2011.


KISCO, which is capable of producing 1.6 million metric tons of molten iron per year, produces rebars, steel pipes, carbon alloy steel, tool steel and mould steel.
