Kia Motors is currently analyzing several government proposals to the company’s Pesquería plant, which is located in the state of Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and could soon start up operations.

The company, which is expected to start up its Pesquería plant in Q2, is said to be analyzing a series of proposals from the Mexican government in different levels, from city to state and federal levels, so it could continue its project in Nuevo Leon.

Kia didn’t provide further details about the proposals, but said it’s analyzing the government’s suggestions, which includes “several modifications” of the original project.

In November last year, the government of Nuevo Leon started a dispute with Kia saying the fiscal benefits it was offering were exceeding the limits established by state laws. The state of Nuevo Leon hasn’t completed infrastructure works near the plant, as it expected to reach a new agreement with the automaker.
