Khuzestan Steel commissions new DRI plant

Iranian steel producer Khuzestan Steel last week commissioned its new direct reduced iron plant. The new iron making plant has a designed capacity of one million mt per year, which will raise the producer’s overall annual capacity from the current 2.4 million mt to 3.2 million mt. Khuzestan Steel also has a further development project for the establishment of another direct reduced iron plant in the future.
