KhPW continues deliveries for Central Asia-China gas pipeline

The Ukrainian iron ore and steel producer Metinvest Holding (Metinvest) has announced that in February 2009 its subsidiary Khartsyzsk Pipe Works (KhPW) continued its production of 1,067 х 15.9 mm Х70 pipes with internal and external anticorrosive coatings for the Central Asia-China gas pipeline project, delivering a total of 49,730 mt of these pipes for the project.

KhPW's total output of large diameter pipes during the month in question amounted to 47,481 metric tons - up 9.8 percent year on year, including 48,428 metric tons of pipes with anticorrosive coating - up 10.8 percent.

During the first two months of 2009, KhPW's large diameter pipe production increased by 293.79 percent year on year to 90,733, mt. Of this figure, pipes with anticorrosive coating accounted for 92,144 mt, showing an increase of 645.54 percent compared to the same period of last year.
