Khouzestan Steel posts 271,000 mt semis output in first month of Iranian year

Iranian steel mill Khouzestan Steel produced 271,000 mt of semi-finished steel (slab, billet, bloom) in the first month (21.03-20.04.2010) of the current Iranian year, up five percent on the 258,000 mt of semis produced in the corresponding month of the last Iranian year.

Khouzestan Steel has reached a nominal annual capacity of 3.2 million mt by upgrading some of its equipment as well as through the start of operations at its new DRI plant (Zam Zam II) in early 2009.
