Kazakhstan to start up two steel mills in H1

In the first half of the 2008, two new steel producing mills, Aktausk Plant for Welded Metal Constructions CES Group and Caspian Steel, are expected to commission production in Kazakhstan's Mangistausk region, the regional authorities have announced.

In addition, in a second phase, a rolling workshop at Aktausk Foundry Plant is expected to be completed in April. Following commissioning of production at the workshop, the plant will be able to produce long steel products, including rebar, channels and angles.
