Kazakhstan issues H1 production results

According to the data released by the Republic of Kazakhstan's Agency of Statistics, in the first half of this year the country registered a 7.4 percent increase year on year in its crude steel production but a 15 percent year-on-year decrease in its production of flat rolled steel, to 2.017 million mt and 1.365 million mt respectively. Meanwhile, the country's tinplate production amounted to 110,102 mt - up 16 percent compared to January-June 2009.
In H1 this year, Kazakhstan's output of ferroalloys increased by 36.7 percent year on year to 858,061 mt, its iron ore production increased by 149 percent to 24.565 million mt, while its iron ore pellet production went up by 107 percent to 4.2 million mt, all compared to the same period last year.
