JSW Steel, one of the largest Indian steelmakers, has posted a one percent year-on-year increase in crude steel production to 2.86 million mt in the first quarter of the financial year 2013-14 ended June 30.
According to the company's statement, in first quarter of the current fiscal year JSW Steel produced 2.23 million mt of flat rolled products, down two percent, while its long rolled product output amounted to 430,000 mt, increasing by four percent, both compared to the corresponding quarter of the financial year 2012-13.
JSW Steel's merger with India's JSW Ispat had become effective as of June 1, with the approval of Supreme Court of India.
