JSW’s August crude steel output rises 53 percent

On September 4, the Indian steelmaker JSW Steel Limited announced that its crude steel output in August increased by 53 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and rose by four percent over July this year. In August, the company achieved its highest-ever monthly crude steel production of 521,000 metric tons.

Meanwhile, in the month in question, JSW produced 302,000 metric tons of flat rolled products and 74,000 metric tons of long products, up eight percent and 159 percent respectively, both compared to August 2008.
