JSW Steel’s auto steel plant to be commissioned by end of December

India-based steelmaker JSW Steel's new auto steel plant being built in the Bellary district of the state of Karnataka will be commissioned by the end of December this year, according to local media reports.

JSW steel said that it has invested $1 billion in the plant with a planned production capacity of 2.3 million mt of high grade automotive steel per year. The company expects to generate revenues of $2 billion from the new auto steel plant.

Japanese steelmaker JFE Steel is the technology partner for the plant in question.
