Indian steelmaker JSW Steel Ltd (JSW) has released its production results for the month of May.
Accordingly, the mill recorded crude steel production of 347,000 metric tons in May, up 19 percent year on year.
JSW's output of flat rolled products (HRC and plates) increased by nine percent while its output of long products rose by 22 percent, compared with the same month last year. The respective figures in metric tons were 255,000 and 32,000.
In addition, the company has also announced that its hot strip mill will be shut down for modernization for around 17 days from June 12. The mill is expected to see an increase in its annual production capacity from 2.5 million mt to 3.2 million mt, and is due to recommission production on or before June 30.
