JSW Steel completes two-phase stake purchase in Indian tinplate mill

Indian steelmaker JSW Steel has announced that it has acquired a further equity stake in Punjab-based Vallabh Tinplate Pvt Ltd (VTPL), raising its stake to 50 percent.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, in early April JSW Steel completed the first phase of an equity stake acquisition in the tinplate producer, acquiring a 26 percent stake.

VTPL is currently operating a 60,000 mt per year tinplate manufacturing facility in the Patiala district in Punjab.
