Jordan imposes additional tax on steel imports

Jordan's cabinet of ministers has decided to implement protective measures against steel imports, effective as of Sunday, June 16, according to local media reports.
 
Additionally, the Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that an additional qualitative tax has been imposed for the next two years and a half to the current custom duties, with JOD 80 ($113) to be imposed on each metric ton of imported steel during the first year, JOD 70 ($99) in the second year and JOD 60 ($85) in the third year.
