Jordan implements tariff on export of scrap

Jordan Cabinet announced yesterday that it determined to impose JD30 ($42) tariff on export of scrap per ton not to have a possible scrap shortage problem in the country. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, Jordan Cabinet reduced the duty on imported steel products to 20% from its previous level of 30%. Moreover, the government was planning to take certain measures, including implementation of new regulation on steel prices. According to the decision taken at the session of the Cabinet yesterday, tariff of 30 JD per ton on scrap exported from Jordan is implemented.
