John Ferriola of Nucor named as new worldsteel chairman

John J. Ferriola, chairman, president and CEO of US steelmaker Nucor Corporation has been named as the new chairman of worldsteel, effective as of October 12. Ferriola has been serving as the vice-chairman of the association. The announcement was made at the 50th annual worldsteel meeting held in Dubai. He replaces Wolfgang Eder, chairman of Austrian steel producer voestalpine, in this position. Mr. Eder has served as worldsteel chairman for the past two years.
