Beachwood, Ohio-based steelmaker JMC Steel Group Inc. may be moving its headquarters to Chicago, Illinois according to local media reports Tuesday. The Community Development Commission in Chicago will consider providing $1.1 million in tax-increment credits in order to help build the new Chicago offices.

JMC subsidiaries Atlas Tube--a manufacturer of structural steel tubing, and Wheatland Tube Company--a steel pipe manufacturer for the oil and gas industry-- already have operations in Chicago. Wheatland Tube has a manufacturing plant in Chicago and Atlas Tube's headquarters are already based in the Midwest city.
